This position requires attention to detail and the ability to follow established laboratory standards to maintain product quality and compliance. The Lab Assistant will work closely with quality assurance personnel to implement food safety testing and control procedures. Although this role does not involve managing a team, it requires a strong individual contributor who can manage multiple testing tasks efficiently, document findings accurately, and help uphold the highest standards of laboratory safety and cleanliness. This will support the company's commitment to delivering reliable and quality food products to the marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and handle samples of raw materials and finished food products for testing purposes.
- Perform quality control tests following established laboratory procedures and safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and accurate results.
- Conduct food safety testing to identify contaminants or deviations from quality standards.
- Record and document test results accurately and report findings to the quality assurance team.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygienic standards of the laboratory environment.
- Support implementation and adherence to food safety and quality standards within the department.
- Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents involved in testing procedures.
- Follow all health and safety protocols related to laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot any deviations or abnormalities discovered during testing.
