Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
Networking Expertise:
- Solid understanding of the OSI reference model and core principles of TCP/IP.
- Proficient in Ethernet, Layer 2 switching, and VLAN concepts.
- Strong grasp of WAN links (PPP, POS), deployment models, and practical applications.
- In-depth knowledge of OSPF, ISIS, and BGP routing protocols, including advanced features and complex scenarios.
- Proficiency in route import, routing policies, and their application.
- Comprehensive understanding of MPLS technologies including L3VPN, L2VPN (VPLS/VLL/CCC), MPLS TE, Multicast, and QoS.
- Knowledge of SNMP, network management systems, and common database operations.
- Familiarity with basic network security and high availability (HA) technologies (BFD, GR, FRR, FC).
Product Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of Router/Switch/Firewall products, including performance metrics, card types, and network topologies.
- Competence in basic service configurations, debugging, upgrades, and maintenance. Skilled in using Company's data collection, inspection, upgrade, and remote troubleshooting tools.
- Proficiency in network management system installation, monitoring, and operational procedures.
- Experience Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of P, PE, and RR router architecture.
- Advanced ability to perform network diagnostics using test equipment.
- Exceptional critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Telecom equipment knowledge preferred.
- Level 3 (L3) consultants must have extensive experience addressing network performance, capacity, and reliability issues.
- Proven ability to resolve technical issues (hardware/software/communications).
- Skilled in root cause analysis and replicating issues in lab environments.
- Capable of managing and executing planned changes in hardware/software systems.
Qualification and Skills:
- Electrical/ Telecom Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a telecom/service provider operations environment.
