Quick Care Dental Clinic seeks a competent Dental Surgery Assistant with at least one year of relevant experience to support our dental professionals during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in chairside assistance, sterilization and infection control, and careful handling of dental instruments. This role demands punctuality, professionalism, and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and dental team members. The assistant plays an essential part in preparing patients and the surgical environment to ensure safe, efficient, and successful dental surgeries. Working closely with dentists and other healthcare staff, the Dental Surgery Assistant provides crucial support by managing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring all materials and equipment are prepared and accounted for before and after procedures. The position requires a willingness to learn and adapt within a collaborative dental team environment, emphasizing responsibility and a patient-centered approach throughout all interactions and tasks.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dental surgery room by arranging instruments, materials, and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
  • Assist the dentist chairside during operations, ensuring smooth instrument handover and anticipating procedural needs.
  • Maintain sterilization protocols by cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
  • Manage and organize dental instruments and materials to ensure they are sterile and available in a timely manner during surgeries.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring their comfort, explaining procedures sensitively, and addressing any immediate concerns.
  • Monitor and replenish inventory of surgical supplies and report shortages promptly to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Document patient information and surgical activities accurately as per clinic protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe surgical environment to prevent infections and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate professionally with dental surgeons and other team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and responsibility with a positive attitude to support clinic operations.
  • Engage in continuous learning to update skills in dental surgery assistance and maintain compliance with new procedures or regulations.
