  • Generic Accountabilities

Strategy Development, Planning and/or Contribution

  • Ensure effective cascading of the departmental strategy into business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.

People Management

  • Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the department by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize performance.
  • Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department, collaborating with experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.

Budgeting and Financial Performance

  • Manage the preparation and recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Manage and ensure effective implementation of departmental policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
  • Ensure awareness of and alignment to the organization compliance manual and the code of ethics.

Change Management

  • Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

  • Ensure that all department reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet company and departmental requirements, policies and quality standards.

Job-Specific Accountabilities

Organizational Development

  • Manage the restructuring of organizational units by collaborating with departmental leads, ensuring optimal alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyse current workforce trends and collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs, ensuring that company is adequately staffed for future projects and growth.
  • Administer the HR Information System, including granting user access and ensuring data accuracy, to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular HR audits at project sites and corporate headquarters, through systematic reviews and evaluations, aiming to uphold compliance and promote best HR practices.
  • Create and refine job descriptions by collaborating with department managers, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and align with organizational needs.

Rewards

  • Assess and grade job roles based on responsibilities and market benchmarks, ensuring equitable and competitive compensation.
  • Periodically review the existing grading system in alignment with market trends, ensuring a fair and standardized approach to compensation.
  • Execute compensation benchmarking studies by analysing industry data, ensuring our packages remain competitive and in line with market standards.
  • Design and manage the compensation and benefits budget, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the development of a comprehensive benefits package, aiming to attract and retain top talent while aligning with industry standards.
  • Review and adjust salary structures in alignment with market data and internal evaluations, ensuring fair and competitive compensation across all grades.
  • Administer employee compensation adjustments, including promotions and bonuses, based on performance evaluations, ensuring fair and motivational rewards.
  • Manage the complete payroll process and benefits distribution, ensuring timely and accurate compensation to all employees.
  • Maintain a comprehensive employee database by overseeing regular updates and audits, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Conduct interviews with departing employees to gather valuable feedback, aiming to enhance retention strategies and workplace culture.
  • Manage and oversee specific modules within the Human Capital Management System, ensuring optimal utilization and consistent data accuracy.
