Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Lab Engineer specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering to join their dynamic team. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute and a valid PEC registration. The successful candidate will leverage strong hands-on experience with electrical and electronic equipment along with various laboratory tools to support academic and research activities. This position is ideal for an engineer who is focused on maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of the university's laboratory environment.
The Lab Engineer will be responsible for the efficient operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and test equipment associated with electrical and electronic engineering fields. The role emphasizes precision in measurement techniques and the application of embedded systems knowledge to facilitate an optimal learning and research atmosphere. This position does not include team management responsibilities, allowing the engineer to concentrate fully on technical tasks and laboratory support within the university setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate electrical and electronic test equipment to ensure accurate functioning and measurement.
- Set up laboratory experiments and embedded systems projects in support of academic course requirements and research.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with laboratory hardware and embedded systems, applying appropriate problem-solving techniques.
- Manage inventory and procurement of laboratory tools and testing equipment to maintain adequate resources for engineering experiments.
- Collaborate with faculty members to design and implement experiments that align with curriculum and research needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and policies related to the use of electrical and electronic laboratory equipment.
- Document and maintain records of laboratory experiments, equipment maintenance, and calibration activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to students and researchers using laboratory facilities.
- Implement and update measurement techniques in the laboratory to reflect current engineering practices.
- Continuously assess laboratory tools and suggest improvements or upgrades to enhance functionality and reliability.
