Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled IT and Hardware Networking Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for technology, possess a basic understanding of IT infrastructure, and have hands-on experience in hardware networking. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining hardware components, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the smooth functioning of our IT systems.
Responsibilities:
IT Support:
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users on hardware and software-related issues.
- Respond to support tickets and resolve IT-related problems in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist in software installations and updates for employees as required.
Hardware Networking:
- Set up and configure routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
- Install and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and ensure network connectivity.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues, including connectivity problems and outages.
- Monitor network performance and ensure network security measures are in place.
Systems Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on hardware and networking equipment.
- Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity is maintained.
- Update system software and firmware to the latest versions.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, network configurations, and IT support activities.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference
Security:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and protocols.
- Assist in maintaining firewall configurations and access controls.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
- Work closely with software developers and system administrators to ensure a cohesive IT environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0 to 2 years of experience in IT support and hardware networking.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components, operating systems, and basic software applications.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN configurations.
- Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar will be a plus (not mandatory).
