Medical Officer Psychiatry and Rehabilitation

Shifa Mindcare Clinic is seeking a dedicated Medical Officer specializing in Psychiatry and Rehabilitation to provide exceptional healthcare services within our multidisciplinary clinical setting. This position requires a compassionate and responsible medical professional who will conduct thorough clinical assessments, manage inpatient care, and support addiction rehabilitation efforts. As a Medical Officer, you will oversee daily patient management, ensuring medication safety, maintaining clinical documentation, and leading a small team of five staff members to deliver high-quality psychiatric care. The ideal candidate holds an MBBS degree with valid PMDC registration and demonstrates strong skills in clinical assessments, counselling, and team management. You will work directly with the Consultant Psychiatrist, follow prescribed treatment plans, and engage in psychoeducation and family support activities. Your role includes on-call duties and active participation in ward management to promote patient well-being and clinical protocol adherence.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough clinical assessments, routine examinations, and follow-up evaluations for psychiatric patients.
Provide daily supportive counselling, psychoeducation, and patient and family engagement sessions to facilitate mental health recovery.
Monitor psychiatric symptoms, medication effects, physical health, and overall patient progress to ensure effective treatment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation in compliance with medical standards.
Supervise a team of five staff members including dispensers, clinical assistants, and ward personnel to maintain smooth operational workflow.
Ensure proper ward management by adhering to medication safety protocols, patient hygiene standards, and clinical procedures.
Identify clinical emergencies or deterioration in patient condition promptly and administer appropriate interventions.
Complete daily clinical and administrative assignments in a timely and organized manner.
Collaborate closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist by following assigned treatment plans and reporting patient outcomes.
Support addiction rehabilitation programs through inpatient care management and continuous patient engagement.
