CNC Plasma / Laser Cutting Machine Operator

Sunhawk is looking for a skilled CNC Plasma and Laser Cutting Machine Operator to join our machinery manufacturing division in Kabul, Afghanistan. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience operating CNC plasma and laser cutting machines and possesses a strong ability to set up, calibrate, and maintain machinery to ensure efficient and precise cutting. This role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, programming machines for a variety of cutting tasks, and performing preventive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety are essential in this position. The operator will focus on maximizing production efficiency while minimizing material waste in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. While this role does not include team management responsibilities, collaboration and effective communication with supervisors and other production staff are important to meet production goals and maintain seamless workflows. The successful candidate must also be proficient with CAD/CAM nesting software used for programming and optimizing cutting patterns.
Responsibilities

Operate and manage CNC plasma and laser cutting machines with professionalism and precision.
Set up, program, and calibrate machines to ensure accurate and efficient cutting operations according to specifications.
Read, interpret, and analyze technical drawings and cutting designs to execute correct cutting paths.
Monitor machine performance and product quality to maintain high standards and meet production targets.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime and machine failures.
Use CAD/CAM nesting software to prepare and optimize machine programs for material efficiency and quality results.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and handling materials and equipment properly.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and production team members to coordinate workflow and resolve operational issues.
Keep detailed records of machine operation, maintenance activities, and production outcomes.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards regarding quality control and safety.
