In this role, you handle the ongoing operation and maintenance of validator nodes, monitoring performance metrics and ensuring uptime using tools like Prometheus, Node Exporter, and Nagios. You work with cryptographic key management and employ Byzantine Fault Tolerance and Tendermint Core protocols to protect the integrity of the blockchain. Your responsibilities also include transaction verification, implementing consensus mechanism management, and operating various node monitoring software. You apply your expertise in delegated proof of stake and blockchain consensus algorithms to optimize blockchain functionalities. This position requires a detailed-oriented approach to security, including utilization of hardware security modules and cryptographic security protocols, enabling the network to function in a stable and secure manner.
Responsibilities

Operate and maintain validator nodes within the blockchain network to ensure continuous availability and performance.
Monitor network health and performance using tools such as Prometheus, Node Exporter, and Nagios to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
Verify and validate blockchain transactions and smart contracts in accordance with established blockchain protocols and consensus mechanisms.
Manage cryptographic keys and security protocols, including the use of hardware security modules for enhanced node protection.
Implement and oversee consensus mechanism strategies such as delegated proof of stake and Byzantine Fault Tolerance, ensuring reliable network consensus.
Utilize node monitoring software to track validator node status, reporting anomalies and addressing system alerts promptly.
Collaborate with blockchain developers and network engineers to support network upgrades and protocol modifications.
Apply security best practices to safeguard against threats and vulnerabilities affecting blockchain nodes and ledger integrity.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of node operations, procedures, and incidents for audit and continuous improvement purposes.
Engage in performance tuning of validator nodes to optimize resource utilization and transaction throughput.
Communicate effectively with internal teams to share validation results, network status updates, and technical insights.
Participate in capacity planning and scaling strategies to support growing network demands without compromising security or performance.
Troubleshoot network and node-related problems swiftly to reduce downtime and preserve blockchain reliability.
