Rationale:

ACTED is contributing in improved education, literacy and numeracy in under developed area of Pakistan especially in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ACTED is seeking an education advisor to review current program strategies in sector of formal and non-formal education, design new project/s and networking with donors.

Following will be the main responsibility of proposed Advisor for SELD Project:

1. Working closely with PD and Field teams to identify needs, develop concepts and strategy and convert it project proposal;

2. Represent ACTED in formal/Informal meetings with stakeholders in education sector, including Government of Sindh donors;

3. Guide and lead budgeting with cost efficient model;

4. Support and participate in briefings, project negotiations and other important meetings;

5. Preparation of briefing notes and supplementary documents as per need;

6. Support ACTED to outreach to the upcoming projects for bidding;

7. Continuous guidance with inputs to Program Development/Management team for all other emerging opportunities and strategy to meet peculiar challenges till the project won;

8. To review the systems of strategic, management, technical and implementation strategy in the document and suggest if required;

9. To review the assessment system in the document and suggest if required;

10. To review human resource management and rationalization in the document; and

11. Any other related assignment as needed to meet project requirement.

In recent years this has included support for communities affected by floods, earthquakes and the complex emergency; Pillar 2 – Income generation and sustainable livelihoods – ACTED has extensive experience in this sector including market-oriented vocational trainings, basic skills development, as well as on and off-farm livelihood assistance; Pillar 3 – Social cohesion and access to basic services – ACTED improves access to basic services through a range of measures including support for educational institutions, community infrastructure and local governance. Social cohesion is a key component to ensuring equitable service provision. ACTED’s interventions include the establishment of local representation bodies as well as supporting the rights of women, minorities and marginalized groups; Pillar 4 – Environmental protection and community resilience – This pillar aims to mitigate some of the effects of recurrent disasters, climate change and environmental degradation.
