Need Analysis in Schools

·    Regular visits to the schools to gauge the situations and get an overall picture of the conditions under the six areas of SDPs. interact with the principals, head teachers, teachers, students and community representatives 

  • Conduct lesson observations (on need basis) go through the lesson plans, schemes of work and provide feedback.

Developing Action Plans

·     In collaboration with the Principals/Head Teacher, develop school based work plan for any desired intervention. This plan will always remain a working document due to the dynamic and  changing nature of the schools and contextual demands Therefore, the plan will continuously be  reviewed and modified based on the intervention and contextual realities.

Implementation of the Plan/Intervention 

  • The intervention plan will be implemented through mentoring, coaching, workshops, face-to-face and /or online feedbacks, and formal and informal meetings with the principals and head teachers. 

Developing Remedial Action Plans 

  • The action plan will be reviewed regularly and remedial actions will be taken based on immediate needs and realities of the schools.

Dissemination 

·    The findings and Lessons will be shared with a wider circle of audience through a variety of dissemination approaches such as; publications in national and international journals, book chapters, articles in newsletter and newspapers.

Assistance in Centralized Activates

  • Assisting the GN/RHOE in the process of evaluation of all the SDPs from the schools.

 Reporting

  • Keeping the GM/RHOE south through written reports, presentations, meetings, and discussions

Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P) is a network of educational institutions that combines the operation of 159 schools and 5 hostels with the management of programmes to enhance the quality of teachers, academic resources and learning environments in Pakistan through community partnerships and long-term interventions. It is one of the largest third-sector networks of educational institutions in Pakistan and part of an international network of over 200 schools spread in 8 countries of the world under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Reaching out to the remotest areas of the country, AKES,P has been providing quality education in the region for the past 110 years. It is a direct provider of education for nearly 36,000 students from pre-primary to higher secondary levels and facilitates access to higher education through the provision of scholarships, hostels and other educational support services.With more than 2,000 employees, of whom over 1,500 areteachers, AKES,P is also supported by over 2,000 volunteers. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, the first AKES,P schools were setup in the 1940s; since then they have contributed significantly toincreasing the literacy rates and social development in theremote, mountainous, harsh and ecologically fragile regions ofNorthern Pakistan. AKES,P currently operates 151 schools inGilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, providing education to over 27,000students, of which 54% are girls. Through these efforts, AKES,Pis continuing to play a critical role in women’s development inthe region. In the Southern Region, AKES,P operates four schools in Karachi,three in Hyderabad and rural Sindh and one in Hafizabad,Punjab, with over 8,900 students. All AKES,P schools follow theNational Curriculum but place special emphasis on the teachingof English, Mathematics, Science and the increasing use ofInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT).
