The Manager of the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, and evaluate CSSD staff provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure staff competency in sterilization techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies
Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Must keep the instruments complete in all sets required for surgery.
Must keep the linen in good condition. Turnover must be maintained.
Manage inventory of sterile supplies, including ordering, receiving, and storing supplies.
Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure the effectiveness of sterilization processes.
Coordinate the maintenance, calibration, and repair of sterilization equipment.
Must maintain a sterelizing record and produce on demand to prove sterlization procedures.
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and functioning to meet quality and safety standards.
Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
Ensure uninterrupted supply of RO Water in the department
Liaise with other departments, such as surgery, nursing, and infection control, to coordinate sterile supply needs and address any concerns or issues.
Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of the CSSD.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in CSSD or in related field.
5-8 years or relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
Must be a computer literate
