We are looking for an energetic mushroom grower.

As part of a growing business the role will need someone with experience and passion but also a willingness to learn and accept new challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

Manage complete growing process of mushrooms from compost to harvest
Developing and implementing effective growing systems and procedures to ensure mushroom grades, quality and yield targets consistently met or exceeded
Analysing crop information to improve yield and quality and reporting to team
Pest and disease management including recommending and implementing weekly and longer-term control strategies
Understanding of Microbiology/Mycology

Essential Criteria:

Previous experience with mushroom growing from Spawn.
A comprehensive of mushrooms, pest and disease management and growing strategies
Be outcome focused with a track record of achieving yield, quality and safety targets
Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated resilience, positivity and perseverance
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities under pressure
Ability to lead and develop a small team
Ability to undertake operational troubleshooting of common water, chilled and heating system and equipment issues
Experience as a Grower or Assistant Grower would be highly regarded.
