Position Summary:
Senior Web Developer is responsible to build and maintain functional web sites and applications.
Senior Web Developer responsibilities include creating fully functional web sites and applications, leading a team of junior developers, refining website specifications and resolving technical issues.
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience building web sites from scratch, on popular CMSs and in-depth knowledge of the following languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
Ultimately, you will ensure our web pages are up and running and cover both internal and customer needs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Writing efficient code.
- Creating websites/a website using standard HTML/CSS practices.
- Working closely with web designers and programmers to produce the website.
- Work with Designers to perfect site aesthetics
- The Web Developer is responsible to program dynamic Web Sites using PHP or any other scripting language.
- The Web Developer is responsible for ensuring that all projects under their supervision are delivered on time.
- Web developer will also interact with the client to learn about design preferences and change requests.
- Experience optimizing images for web user interface and creating HTML/CSS that matches a Photoshop.
- Work with existing staff to build mockups and prototypes, establish and create style guidelines and style guide documents as project deliverables.
- Communication with peers and management.
- Implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down.
- Maintaining and expanding/enhancing the website once built.
- Meet with Clients to Determine Website Needs
- Test website applications for functionality
- Train and mentor Junior Web Developers
- Review code with an eye for sustainability and performance
