The Data Institute, Pakistan is seeking the ideal candidate for a strategic and mission-critical role of a Sr. Director of Academics. In this role, you will not only oversee all academic and administrative duties but also partner with industry leaders from Microsoft, Nvidia, and Careem to name a few. You will participate actively in hiring instructors, scholars and researchers and will oversee cutting edge curriculum development in the space of Statistics, Computer Science, Data and AI.

The Data Institute envisions to bridge the gap between academia and industry through relevant hands-on training and arranging affordable data science classes, workshops for the learning and skill development of students, and entrepreneurs with a background in STEM. We also set out to nurture entrepreneurship by inculcating the mindset in the youth that entrepreneurship is a viable career choice by connecting them with leaders from Silicon Valley.
Job Responsibilities
The Sr. Director of Academics will have both institutional and local responsibility. As such he/she is accountable for:
Key Areas/Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Direction
General Academic Management
Establish and maintain communication with the board and appropriate parties and networks within the faculty and the broader organization;
Represent the organization’s interests in the faculty, institute, professional, industry and government contexts.
Faculty Onboarding
Play a major role in the recruitment, selection and induction of the instructors, utilising a targeted recruitment approach where appropriate to appoint academic staff of the highest calibre;
Facilitate and promote effective communication and positive morale within the teaching staff.
Take responsibility for the completion of distributing teaching, and curriculum management duties in an equitable manner, taking into account where possible the agreed on career development plans of the faculty member;
Developing curriculum with the help of faculty, board, and other staff.
Networking and building professional relationships with members of the institution and the community.
Monitoring the progress of new and existing teaching methods.
Closely evaluating results at the end of each quarter and writing up progress reports.
Monitoring all faculty recruitment and vetting prospective instructors.
Ensure that Performance and Development Review takes place and appropriate objectives, targets and milestones are set;
