DevOps Engineer (AWS, Docker, CI/CD)

Zarea Limited, Pakistan’s largest and fastest-growing digital marketplace for physical commodities, is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join their on-site team in Lahore Cantt. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS. This position requires close collaboration with development, QA, and product teams to streamline deployment processes for modern web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and system monitoring to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront, and VPC. Build and manage Docker-based containerization and orchestration solutions using ECS, EKS, or Docker Compose. Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Node.js, Laravel, and React applications utilizing tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Implement and manage monitoring, alerting, and logging systems using CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or similar tools. Configure SSL certificates through AWS ACM and manage DNS settings via Route 53. Manage IAM roles, enforce secure access policies, and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) to maintain a secure environment.

Support multiple environments including development, staging, and production, ensuring proper branching and rollback strategies. Enable automated backups, disaster recovery plans, and availability zone configurations to guarantee high availability and fault tolerance. Analyze system performance, recommend optimization strategies, and ensure cost-effective infrastructure usage.

Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and compliance checks. Integrate external tools and services for notifications (Slack, SNS), analytics, and deployment metrics. Collaborate closely with developers and QA teams to troubleshoot deployment and environment-related issues.

Required Qualifications

Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services and cloud-native architecture is essential. Proficiency in Docker, container orchestration, and CI/CD tools is required. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is necessary. Hands-on experience with Linux servers, shell scripting, and basic networking is expected.

Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog is important. Proficiency in Git and CI workflows using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes is highly desirable. Exposure to Laravel Forge, Envoyer, or custom deployment scripts will be an advantage. Familiarity with cost optimization tools and AWS budget alerts is preferred. Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability scanning, and auditing is a plus. Experience with load balancing, auto-scaling, and zero-downtime deployment strategies will be beneficial.

Work Schedule
