Senior System Engineer

Required Experience

• 7-10 years overall experience designing, building and supporting VDI environments
• 5 years of recent experience working with the Citrix Workspace as a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) Architecture
• Citrix Workspace Architecture including design, configuration, virtualized application delivery, and maintaining virtualized environments

Technical Skills

• Experience in Enterprise VDI solutions
• Virtual Desktop Administration preferably using Citrix and RDS
• Design and build out enterprise active directory structure.
• Deployment and configuration of host clusters, HA, and DR.
• Design, deployment, and maintenance of Desktop Pools (either in Citrix Desktop or RDS).
• Configuration, deployment, and continual maintenance of desktop images.
• Work with others to execute application virtualization where necessary.
• Deploy and maintain Microsoft Windows 20116 and 2016 Servers, as well as Windows 10 and Windows 11 virtual machines.
• Microsoft Windows (all versions) experience to a high level (troubleshoot and effectively resolve issues by research/using knowledge bases in a confident way).
• Active Directory to a high level - security groups, administration/deployment, LDAP, ADSI.
• Defines the Windows desktop images standards, deployment methods and use of supporting tools and technologies
• Knowledge around Infrastructure – storage, networking, servers, load balancing, etc. Anti-virus & Profile management
• Experience with roaming profiles using FSLOGIX, Citrix UPM and Microsoft RDS
• User experience monitoring, Single sign on, Performance troubleshooting Endpoint management (thin clients, mobile devices, PCs, etc)
• Experience with SAML and SSO with Citrix FAS, Azure, OKTA, Ping etc.
• Experience with Citrix ADC, HA , ADM and Citrix Cloud
• Experience with Storefront, Delivery controllers and SQL HA.
• Experience working on NetScaler ADC
• Identifies issues proactively using required tools.
• Works on automating system procedures and processes to evolve the technology in the organization.
• Windows Server Environment 2012/2016 - design, deployment, maintenance and support.
• Office 365 – Azure administration/deployment.
• PowerShell to a competent level (backup/azure/EMC).
• DNS – administration of DNS internal and external.
• Good understanding of, and able to evidence Azure support capability.
• Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and DHCP.
• Working knowledge of remote software and tools.
• Experience with SCCM, Citrix, Storage systems and basic networking.
• Capability and understanding of problem management & change management.
• Present examples of the ability to identify repeat fails and report against them to aid reduction in repeat failures.
• Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills explaining technical solutions in a non-technical manner.
• Technical documentation skills. Ability to share knowledge and experience with colleagues.
• Contributes to knowledge base for troubleshooting and maintaining the environment.
• Provides documentation, processes and technical training to service desk and administrator level team members.
• Providing operational support for Active Directory and related network support equipment to ensure changes and maintenance did not interrupt service to the customers. Responsible for the analysis, administration and support of thin clients, virtual and physical desktops.
• Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VDI Environment.
• Recognised certifications and/or relevant experience of the Microsoft Office suite of products, Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows server versions including 2008, 2012 2016, with Knowledge of 2019.
• Working with Web filtering solutions like Forcepoint, WebTitan, Barracuda, N-able and Cisco umbrella
• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience working in End-User Support, Systems Support

• Citrix Certified Associate – App Delivery and Security (CCA-AppDS) -- Preferred
• MCSA Office 365 -- Preferred
• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate (Routing and Switching)) -- Preferred
• MCSE (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure () 
• MCSE (Server Infrastructure) – MUST
•  Azure Certification – Desired -- Preferred
