The Export Assistant will provide support and assist with the preparation of export documents in compliance with customs and government regulations.
Job Duties will include:
- Prepares documents and forms to move goods efficiently through import and export steps and procedures
- Understand the procedure for documenting export/import entries
- Reviews paperwork and documents to ensure shipping, handling, storage charges, and customs fees are billed correctly
- Be able to build liaison with custom clearing agent and follow up
- Maintains a database that tracks merchandise
- Processes claims on merchandise shortages and overages
- Travel to government departments for documentation completion
- Performs other duties as assigned
Competencies Required:
- Active and able to work under target oriented conditions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and policies
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
