A WordPress Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining websites using WordPress, a popular open-source content management system (CMS). They bridge the gap between design and development, ensuring websites are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly. Here's a detailed look at the typical duties and responsibilities:

Front-End Development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript):

Collaborate with designers to translate design mockups into functional WordPress themes.
Develop custom themes using HTML, CSS, and potentially JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.js (for more complex themes).
Ensure themes are responsive and display well across different devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
Optimize website performance for fast loading times.

Back-End Development (WordPress & PHP):

Create custom plugins to extend the functionality of WordPress and address specific client needs.
Utilize PHP to modify core WordPress functionalities or integrate with third-party services.
Manage and maintain WordPress installations, ensuring security and optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and debug website issues related to themes, plugins, and WordPress core.

Content Management System (CMS) Expertise:

In-depth understanding of WordPress features and functionalities.
Ability to configure themes, plugins, and settings to achieve desired website behavior.
Experience with creating and managing custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields.
Knowledge of child themes for easy theme modifications without affecting core theme files.
