Assistant / Associate Professors Computer Science

The Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT), Rafha, Northern Border University has the three: Department of Computer Science (CS), Departments Information Technology & Department of Information Systems. The program enrolled its first set of students at the beginning of the academic year 2007-2008.

The faculty offers a bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology & Information Systems. The aim of FCIT is to bring scientific, research and practical advancement in the computing field, especially in computer systems, network computing, programming systems, intelligent systems, computer graphic, high performance computing and software engineering. The FCIT encourages multidisciplinary research and activities to give in depth knowledge and understanding of IT and computing related subjects, hands-on experience with latest development tools and techniques, an understanding of social and ethical issues related to the field of IT and development of strong communication and problem solving skills. The FCIT, with the help of the university, supports its faculty members to attend professional development workshops and seminars.

Brief Description

The FCIT looks for highly qualified, energetic, adaptable, and experienced Assistant, Associate & Professors to teach Computer Science, Information Technology & Information Systems course. Successful candidates will be mostly committed to teaching and supporting department and faculty operations. Based on applicants experience, he may be involved in curriculum development and participate in committees working towards the continuous improvement/enhancement of the FCIT. Also, he can pursue his research interests outside the working hours.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in Computer Science and related fields.

2. Hands on experience in :

a) Software Engineering, b) Business, economics, c). Mathematics and c) Computer Networking.

3. Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience is preferred/fresh Ph.D. are also encouraged to apply.

4. Computer literacy in web-based learning technologies, especially Blackboard/WebCT.

5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.

Teaching and work experience at a western institution is preferred.

Successful candidates are expected to undertake teaching duties at the Undergraduate students. Additional task may include advising students as well as developing curriculum and labs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

These positions are full-time one-year renewable contracts with competitive tax free salary based on qualifications and experience, housing allowance per year. Subject to University policy, the appointment includes the following additional benefits: Air ticket/s to Rafha on appointment; annual repatriation air tickets to Rafha, KSA for the faculty with three dependents; tuition fees for school-age dependent children; monthly transportation allowance; Two months paid summer vacation, end-of service benefits. FCIT with associated public hospitals furnish free of cost medical facilities, teaching and research support facilities such as an extensive library acquisitions and library databases, computing facilities, smart classrooms, and research and teaching laboratories.
