American Lyceum is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Grade 1B Homeroom Teacher to inspire and support young learners through a well-structured and engaging curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in early childhood education, with particular emphasis on literacy and numeracy development. This role requires a nurturing approach to classroom management, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily lessons in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies that align with the school’s curriculum standards.
- Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports the diverse needs of all students.
- Regularly monitor and assess student progress, keeping accurate academic records to track development.
- Prepare detailed weekly lesson plans and develop appropriate teaching materials to enhance learning.
- Employ positive discipline strategies to manage classroom behavior and maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with subject teachers, assistant teachers, and parents to support student learning and overall development.
- Organize and facilitate class activities, projects, and assessments aimed at increasing student engagement and comprehension.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events to contribute to the broader school community.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with preference given to candidates holding a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally within an early elementary classroom setting.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
- Demonstrated skills in effective classroom management and clear communication.
- Familiarity with student-centered and activity-based learning methodologies.
