To manage and be in charge of the library and supervise users at all times
To carry out regular maintenance of library stock including withdrawals and stock replacement to maintain a relevant collection that supports all learners
To carry out classification and cataloguing of resources using the Library Management System, and supervising labelling, protection, display and shelving of library stock.
To identify new books and relevant material to be added to the Library from time to time.
To support learners to identify, locate and access the information they require.
Ensure appropriate security measures exist to protect library resources.
Effectively manage the overdue system.
Liaise with the Director Academic Services and Finance Manager to ensure books are returned from pupils who are leaving or charges for fines/replacement raised in good time.
Will be responsible for online library resources
Explore options for extending the resources.
Undertaking data-driven evaluation of new and existing collections to ensure their effectiveness and inform future procurement decisions.
Managing small scale projects within the library and coordinating the activities of other library staff to extend access to resources, e.g. through provision of a digitization service.
Actively participating in staff development activities and providing training for other Library staff.
