Research objectives
The Centre for Asian Studies of IKMAS was originally established on 1 April 1995 to provide a focal point for the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies in the field of Malaysian, Southeast and East Asian studies. The Centre has a long history and a reputation both locally and internationally, particularly in the field of Malaysian and Southeast Asian studies.
The Center conducts research on regional geopolitics, international trade, and regionalism in Asia. The Centre plays an important role as an interdisciplinary unit, bringing together researchers and graduate students from across the University, encouraging group research and publication. Regular seminars are held to broaden the intellectual horizons of fellows and students through exposure to other disciplines, methods and ideas.
At present, the South Asia Project team of the Center is actively recruiting personnel with strong knowledge accumulation of South Asian relations, geopolitics and international relations/political economy, research or work experience in related fields, strong initiative and initiative, and able to work independently.
