Main Responsibilities

• Provide individual or group psychological support such as counselling and support groups in Communities.

• Provide capacity building for the community mobilizers and Gender Support Groups on identification and handling of different behaviours during implementation of project activities.

• Support staff and volunteers on the identification and handling of clients in line with principles of psychosocial support.

• Provide support to the curriculum development process for the workshops to ensure that components of psychosocial principles are incorporated. 

• Develop technical reports and stories on specific cases identified during the individual psychological support sessions.

• Regularly mentor Gender Support Groups members and conduct monthly meetings.

• Conduct awareness sessions on different topics related to project goals.

• Arrange and conduct seminars, event, coordination meetings and other awareness related activities at targeted Field area.

• Assist Program officers in trainings and other project related activities.

• Conduct Bi annuals exit interviews and GSG capacity assessment as per project need.

• Compile activity reports and data entry.

• Identify and document success stories, best practices and lessons learned.

• Facilitate the community to pass their complaints to the management through CBFRM in a transparent manner.

• Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed in this document are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and not necessarily all inclusive.

Case Management: 

• Provide comprehensive case management including: assessment, long-term care plan, progress monitoring and referrals.

• Provide psychological support to cases referred by the team in line with case plan objectives.

• Closely monitor and document the psychological progress of cases referred by the case workers.

• Refer cases and liaise with other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Master’s degree in Psychology or Master’s in Gender studies and relevant disciples can also apply. 

• Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably in humanitarian settings.

• Experience in training & capacity building.

• Familiarity with IASC Guidelines and MHPSS in Emergency Settings.

Competency

• Strong writing and communication skills,

• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure, manage time and prioritize work to deadlines,

• Well-developed organization skills,

• Able to work independently, with minimal supervision and under pressure.

• Fluency in English and other regional languages, particularly Pashto. 

• Emergency Response

• Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibilities as and when needed.
