Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading global relief and development organization, working in 42 countries worldwide. Established in Pakistan for over 30 years, IRC manages and delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection and livelihoods for displaced, poor and conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Job Overview/Summary:The Database Officer along with other organization staff will assist in the implementation of IVAP. The goal of this assessment is to better understand the vulnerabilities and needs of each household of the affected population. The information gathered will be used as a tool to enable the effective and principled targeting of TDPs for assistance.
Major Responsibilities: ·
Creation of site layout/user interface from provided design concepts by using standard HTML/CSS practices.·
Placement and layout of web site pages given client provided content.·
Development of robust and user-friendly NET-based web applications.·
Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and applications.·
ASP.Net web forms/MVC development per project needs.·
Perform routine website maintenance as needed.·
Development of android based applications.·
Programming of IVAP questionnaires using ODK Data entry application in Q-MOBILEs and provision of user’s manuals.·
Assist Manager IT Solutions in developing the data entry application for IVAP survey.·
Ensure data collected from the field and data uploaded to the database is in line with each other.·
Working on improving the tools - preparing data tabulation plan and programming the required output/result tables or the reporting formats so that the data collected through Q-MOBILEs is directly translated into results tables.·
Providing technical support for Q-MOBILE trouble shooting; data uploading, data transferring and report generation.·
Sector-wise result tables/reporting format are programmed and linked with the questionnaires loaded in the Q-MOBILEs·
Data analysis and report generation skills.·
Ensure proper data cleaning of all IVAP data, particularly the data cleaning forms assigned.·
Any other task assigned by the Manager IT Solutions
Other·
Support Manager IT Solutions in development and maintenance of IVAP database/live server·
Any other tasks as directed by the Program Coordinator Willingness to work long hours and on week-ends if required by the emergency assessment.
Position Reports to: Manager Database/WebPosition directly supervises: NoneOther Internal and/or external contacts:
Internal: IVAP management, and IRC administration
Job Requirements:
Education:· Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science.
Work Experience:·
At least 2 years of relevant work experience ;
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:·
Knowledge of different data collection methodologies. Proven skills to analyze statistical information.·
Ability to translate planning-specifications into technical briefs for data capture and analysis, and vice versa.·
Communication skills, teamwork and high standards of ethics and values.·
Ability to make power point and other types of presentations·
Good stress management skills
Languages:·
Urdu· English
