Job Purpose

The Women & Girls Friendly Spaces (WGFS) Facilitators will be responsible for managing the daily operations of WGFS centres designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for women and girls affected by or at risk of gender-based violence (GBV). The facilitators will support implementation of a survivor-centred approach, deliver mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and ensure timely referrals to multi-sectoral services including legal aid, health, and protection. WGFS will also serve as empowerment and awareness hubs for community mobilization and resilience-building. The facilitator will ensure service quality, confidentiality, and a dignified experience for all participants.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Bullets Points)

Technical:

  • Manage daily WGFS activities, including psychosocial support sessions, life skills training, awareness workshops, and community engagement events.
  • Facilitate structured group activities and individual sessions tailored to the needs of women and adolescent girls.
  • Identify GBV survivors and safely refer them to specialized services using established SOPs.
  • Promote a survivor-centered approach that upholds confidentiality, dignity, and non-discrimination.
  • Build trust with WGFS participants and provide a supportive, healing environment.
  • Contribute to the improvement of WGFS programming through feedback collection and participant engagement.
  • Ensure activities are aligned with principles of gender equality, human rights, and cultural sensitivity.

Operational:

  • Maintain daily logs, attendance sheets, and case follow-up documentation.
  • Participate in planning meetings and training sessions.
  • Ensure all WGFS materials, supplies, and infrastructure are maintained and secured.
  • Collaborate with community mobilizers, helpline staff, and local leaders to promote WGFS services.
  • Prepare weekly summaries and contribute to donor/internal reports.

Organizational:

  • Ensure compliance with IR’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services to communities.
  • Uphold Islamic Relief’s values and safeguarding commitments in all WGFS operations.
  • Ensure compliance with PSEAH and Do No Harm principles.
  • Strengthen linkages between WGFS and broader
  • GBV/protection services in the target areas.
  • Ensure that WGFS spaces reflect inclusive, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective practices.
  • Engage women, girls, and community groups in meaningful participation and leadership.
  • Abide by the IR zero tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption through sensitization / empowerment of communities on coping mechanism so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of IR strategic priorities to ensure effective implementation with future sustainability.

It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its PSEAH (preventing sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. IR has a zero-tolerance policy towards PSEAH and don’t support any action that promotes or encourages PSEAH.

To cater to the higher living cost, IR Pakistan is transferring the exchange gain (PKR-GBP) on salary to staff at a prevailing conversion rate till further notice. Salaries are paid in local currency.
