Amazon Linux Systems Administrator

We are looking for an Amazon Linux Systems Administrator to work with our IT team in Lahore. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in LINUX SERVER MANAGEMENT and security provision and relevant tasks.

Basic Qualification Criteria:

Bachelors or Master’s Degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering & 5 years of equivalent work experience
3+ years of Linux System Administration experience, working in a professional environment
2+ years of experience with server hardware & networking

Preferred Skills:

Strong scripting experience in one or more languages (bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Linux systems.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization and customer base
Certifications in one or more of the following areas: Linux, Cloud Computing, Security
Familiarity with Ubuntu or other Debian based Linux distributions.
Experience in designing and improving system architecture
Experience with cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain and troubleshoot all systems, applications, security, and network configurations
Be responsible for the daily administration of a cloud environment, related servers, security and network devices
Troubleshoot network performance issues and help to create and maintain disaster recovery plans
Install, test and administer enhancements to new and existing cloud servers
Maintain servers to ensure trouble free operation and to ensure security
Ensure data recoverability by conducting a schedule of system backups and disaster recovery scenarios
Configure offsite backups and verify they are completing successfully
Manage high level infrastructure related projects
Work to ensure continuous infrastructure continuity
Receive and troubleshoot help desk tickets from client user community.
On Call Rotation as necessary
Review, Manage, Analyze and fix all security vulnerabilities on the data centers servers and storage systems
Identify and fix any servers and storage security incidents
Managing and administrating the Linux server security.
