Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Department Physician to provide high-quality care to patients presenting with urgent medical conditions. The successful candidate will assess and treat patients based on medical priority, ensuring adherence to organizational protocols and standards. This role requires strong leadership during on-call duties, effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and active participation in academic and research activities. The physician will play a critical role in maintaining patient safety, accurate documentation, and seamless clinical handovers within the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage patients in the Emergency Department promptly, prioritizing cases according to medical urgency.
- Ensure strict compliance with all medical protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) established by the organization.
- Lead the clinical team during on-call shifts, providing guidance and support to junior staff and coordinating patient care activities.
- Consult with Consultant Emergency Physicians or Telemedicine doctors for second opinions when necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Accurately document physician notes for all Priority 1 and Priority 2 patients during clinical calls, maintaining thorough and timely records.
- Provide clear and concise written clinical handovers to colleagues at the start of each shift to ensure continuity of care.
- Complete clinical incident reports and adverse drug reaction documentation as required, contributing to patient safety and quality improvement.
- Actively participate in academic activities such as morbidity and mortality meetings, online quizzes, e-learning modules, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training, and educational sessions led by clinical instructors.
- Communicate brief patient assessments and management plans to Telemedicine physicians for cases in the Resuscitation room or step-down areas.
- Seek quarterly performance feedback from the physician in charge and focus on continuous professional development and improvement.
- Dedicate approximately 5% of working time to research activities, supported by senior colleagues, to contribute to evidence-based practice and innovation.
- Foster strong working relationships with Emergency Department nursing staff, administrative personnel, allied health professionals, and faculty at affiliated public sector hospitals to ensure integrated patient care.

Required Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and clinical experience in managing pediatric emergencies, grounded in evidence-based medical practices.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate clinical teams effectively under pressure.
- Excellent documentation skills and proficiency in communicating clinical notes and patient handovers clearly and accurately.
- Familiarity with clinical incident reporting systems and protocols for adverse drug reactions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in academic and research activities.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
