Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled .NET Backend Developer with expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to join our healthcare technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend services that facilitate secure and efficient EDI transactions within the healthcare ecosystem. This role demands a strong understanding of X12 EDI standards, experience with clearinghouse integrations, and a commitment to HIPAA-compliant data handling. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and reliable healthcare applications that streamline claims processing and eligibility verification.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using .NET technologies to support EDI transactions, ensuring high performance and reliability. You will integrate APIs and manage SFTP-based file exchanges with major clearinghouses such as Waystar and TriZetto, facilitating seamless communication between systems. Automating critical healthcare workflows is a core part of this role, including claim submissions (837), remittance advice processing (835), and eligibility inquiries (270/271).

A deep understanding of X12 EDI standards is essential, as you will parse incoming files and generate outbound messages in the required formats. Maintaining HIPAA compliance is paramount, so you will implement secure data transmission and storage practices. Collaboration is key; you will work alongside frontend developers, QA engineers, and product managers to deliver scalable healthcare solutions.

Additionally, you will monitor EDI workflows to identify and resolve failed transmissions or response mismatches promptly. Creating robust logging, alerting, and auditing mechanisms will help ensure transparency and traceability in all EDI processes.

Required Qualifications
- Proficient in C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+ development, with a strong background in backend service architecture.
- Extensive experience with X12 EDI transaction sets, including 837 (claims), 835 (remittance), 270/271 (eligibility), and familiarity with 276/277 (claim status).
- Hands-on experience integrating with healthcare clearinghouses such as Waystar, TriZetto, Availity, and Change Healthcare.
- Skilled in API integration, both RESTful and SOAP-based services, as well as managing SFTP file exchanges for secure data transfer.
- Strong SQL Server expertise for logging transactions, tracking statuses, and supporting backend data operations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices to ensure data security and compliance in healthcare applications.
