Job Summary
Simpaisa is seeking a dedicated and skilled SOC Analyst (Level 1) to join our Security team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents to protect the organization’s critical information assets. This role demands hands-on experience with security monitoring tools, especially SIEM platforms, alongside a solid grasp of cybersecurity principles. Candidates with prior SOC Analyst experience will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
The SOC Analyst will follow established operational processes and procedures to analyze, escalate, and assist in the remediation of critical information security incidents. A key part of the role involves correlating and analyzing security events using SIEM or other monitoring tools to identify potential IT security threats.

The analyst will conduct detailed examinations of log files, including forensic analysis of system resource access, to uncover suspicious activities. Monitoring multiple security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Switches, VPNs, and other threat intelligence sources is essential to maintain a comprehensive security posture.

Responding promptly to inbound technical assistance requests related to managed services via phone and electronic communication is a critical responsibility. The analyst must ensure timely handling of support, threat, and other cases within defined service level agreements (SLAs).

Maintaining a high level of awareness of the current threat landscape is vital to anticipate emerging risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies. This continuous vigilance helps safeguard the organization against evolving cyber threats.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in cybersecurity roles focused on security monitoring, incident detection, and response. A strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including common attack vectors and security threats, is essential.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret security data effectively and respond to incidents with precision. Strong communication skills are also necessary to clearly convey technical information to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is mandatory to ensure foundational knowledge and technical competence.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
