Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to manage inventory reconciliation and financial coordination for our distribution and warehousing clients. This role involves conducting monthly inventory verifications, resolving discrepancies, and preparing accurate invoices. The successful candidate will handle payments to distributors on behalf of retailers and reconcile balances with both retailers and customers. Additional responsibilities include preparing debtor and supplier aging reports, finalizing sales tax data, performing daily stock reconciliations, and supporting monthly account closings and annual audits. Strong coordination skills are essential, as the role requires effective communication between distributors, retailers, and e-tailers on commercial and financial matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation and verification processes with customers, promptly addressing any discrepancies and preparing corresponding invoices.
- Manage and process payments to distributors on behalf of retailers, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Reconcile account balances with retailers and customers to maintain financial accuracy and transparency.
- Prepare comprehensive debtor and supplier aging reports to support financial tracking and decision-making.
- Finalize sales tax data in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform daily stock reconciliations to maintain up-to-date and precise inventory records.
- Assist with monthly account closings to facilitate accurate financial reporting and analysis.
- Support internal and external auditors during annual audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements to verify and validate financial transactions.
- Utilize ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP efficiently to manage daily operations and data entry.
- Coordinate with retailers to ensure timely recovery of payments within agreed due dates, minimizing outstanding receivables.
- Serve as a liaison between distributors and e-tailers, addressing commercial and financial issues to maintain smooth business operations.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of e-commerce and distribution business models to support operational needs.
- Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiently for reporting, data analysis, and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or a professional accounting certification. Candidates who are part-qualified will also be considered.
- Between 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience in accounting, inventory reconciliation, or financial coordination roles.
