Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager – Stores & Logistics. This role is pivotal in managing store operations, coordinating dispatch activities, and overseeing the entire inventory lifecycle. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in materials handling, logistics planning, and warehouse management, especially within a foundry or heavy industrial environment. Your efforts will ensure smooth material flow, accurate inventory control, and timely support for production and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for supervising daily store operations, ensuring that inventory tracking is precise and documentation is comprehensive. Managing the inward and outward movement of materials—including raw materials, consumables, and finished goods—will be a core part of your duties. You will coordinate dispatch schedules and transport logistics, ensuring all deliveries are timely and supported by proper documentation.
Maintaining stock control procedures is essential, which involves conducting regular cycle counts and audits to preserve inventory accuracy. You will also optimize storage space and material handling processes, applying FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to maintain product quality and rotation. Collaboration with production, purchasing, and QA/QC teams is critical to support demand planning and guarantee material availability.
Accurate record-keeping in the ERP system related to stock movements, issue slips, and material receipts will be under your purview. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with safety protocols, proper material handling, and housekeeping standards within the store and dispatch areas to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline. You must have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in foundry, metal, or industrial manufacturing sectors. Strong proficiency in store management systems, dispatch planning, and ERP platforms is essential.
Excellent coordination and communication skills are required to effectively supervise teams and liaise with various departments. A proactive approach focused on process improvement and problem-solving will be key to your success in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience managing casting-related inventory such as metals, molds, and consumables will be highly advantageous. Familiarity with lean inventory management techniques is preferred, as is practical knowledge of safety and compliance regulations relevant to industrial warehousing environments.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on operational efficiency within a challenging and dynamic industrial setting. If you are driven to optimize logistics and inventory management while ensuring safety and quality standards, we encourage you to apply.
