Assistant Mechanical Manager

Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our project site in Lahore, Pakistan. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in both maintenance and project roles within well-established organizations, particularly in the Petrochemical, Chemical, or Fertilizer industries. This role demands strong expertise in engineering design and design reviews of rotary and static equipment, along with a solid understanding of international design codes and standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical and commercial bid evaluations, proposal preparation, cost estimation, and contract documentation. Additionally, they will support project scheduling, management, and reporting, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and mechanical reviews throughout the design and construction phases. Experience in developing maintenance manuals and procedures is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering design and conduct thorough design reviews for rotary and static equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Evaluate technical and commercial bids for tenders, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals, including man-hour and cost estimations, tenders, terms of reference (TORs), and contract documentation.
- Manage project scheduling and oversee project management activities to ensure milestones are met and reports are submitted on time.
- Conduct safety and mechanical reviews during both design and construction stages to uphold safety standards and mechanical integrity.
- Develop and maintain maintenance manuals and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. Additional certifications or qualifications will be considered an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant industry experience, specifically within the Petrochemical, Chemical, or Fertilizer sectors.
- Proven expertise in maintenance of both static and rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with international design codes and standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Experience working with reputable organizations in maintenance and project departments.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel), AutoCAD, and relevant engineering calculation software.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, management, and reporting processes.
- Ability to conduct detailed technical and commercial bid evaluations and prepare precise proposals and contract documents.
- Solid understanding of safety and mechanical review procedures during design and construction phases.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in Lahore or nearby cities for ease of project site access.
- Certifications related to mechanical engineering or project management will be considered a plus.
- Experience with engineering design companies is advantageous.
- The role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
