DevOps Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join the technology team of a well-established organization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in version control, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and collaboration tools. This role centers on managing and optimizing development workflows using Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and other Atlassian products. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline delivery processes, improve system reliability, and uphold DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize Git-based workflows, including branching, merging, and rebasing, to ensure efficient version control practices. Administer Bitbucket repositories, handling repository management and access control for both Cloud and Server environments. Configure and maintain Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools to support project tracking and documentation needs.

Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. Automate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes through scripting languages like PHP and Python to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Utilize Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes to manage containerized applications effectively. Work with cloud service providers including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform to deploy and manage scalable infrastructure.

Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to ensure smooth code releases, including establishing rollback strategies when necessary. Monitor infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability, implementing improvements to maintain optimal system health.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and conduct training sessions to educate team members on DevOps tools and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
Strong proficiency with Git and Git-based workflows is essential. Hands-on experience managing Bitbucket repositories (Cloud and/or Server) and controlling access is required. Proven ability to configure and administer Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian products is necessary.

Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions is expected. Proficiency in scripting languages like PHP and Python for automation tasks is important.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is essential.

Candidates must have the ability to integrate and automate development tools to support version control, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
A background in software development or system administration is advantageous. Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and tools such as DroneCI, ArgoCD, or Flux is a strong plus.
