This role is pivotal in driving the company’s online sales growth by identifying, bidding on, negotiating, and closing projects through the Upwork platform. The successful candidate will help expand the client base, nurture strong client relationships, and contribute to the company’s success within a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
Key Responsibilities
The Upwork Sales Specialist will actively seek out and bid on relevant projects in areas such as web development, mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, and UI/UX design. Crafting customized and persuasive proposals that highlight the company’s strengths and unique offerings is essential. The role requires skillful negotiation of project terms to close deals and meet sales targets effectively.
Conducting thorough market research and competitive analysis is critical to developing strategic pricing models that position the company competitively. Staying updated on Upwork’s latest trends, algorithms, and platform policies will ensure maximum bidding efficiency. Maintaining detailed records of leads, client communications, and project outcomes is necessary for tracking progress and performance.
Building and maintaining professional client relationships through proactive communication, timely responsiveness, and consistent follow-ups is a key part of the role. Additionally, the specialist will provide regular sales performance reports and insights to help refine sales strategies and support overall business growth.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have proven experience in bidding, negotiating, and closing deals specifically on the Upwork platform. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required to develop compelling, client-focused proposals. A strong understanding of the entire sales lifecycle—from lead generation through deal closure—is essential.
The ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently is important. Analytical skills to assess project requirements, evaluate competitors, and formulate effective pricing strategies are also necessary. A bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
