Job Summary
The Irrigation Engineer/Supervisor is a vital contributor to the successful planning, design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of irrigation systems that improve the efficiency of landscape projects while promoting sustainable water resource management. This role demands strong technical expertise in irrigation system design and site evaluation, with a focus on optimizing water use and system performance. The position requires close collaboration with horticulture specialists, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure irrigation solutions are effectively integrated and meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Irrigation Engineer/Supervisor will be responsible for planning, designing, and supervising the installation of irrigation systems tailored to the specific needs of each project. This includes conducting thorough site analyses to evaluate soil conditions, water availability, and environmental factors that influence irrigation design decisions. The role involves continuous monitoring and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise during or after installation.
Collaboration is essential, as the engineer will work closely with horticulturists, civil engineers, and project teams to seamlessly incorporate irrigation solutions into broader landscape designs. Ensuring all work complies with applicable engineering standards and sustainable water management practices is a key part of the role. Additionally, the use of irrigation design software tools such as AutoCAD, EPANET, GIS, or IRRICAD is required to develop accurate and effective system layouts.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field. A Professional Engineering License (PE) or an equivalent certification is preferred or may be required depending on regional regulations. Applicants should have between 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in irrigation system design and implementation.
Proficiency in irrigation design software, including but not limited to AutoCAD, EPANET, GIS, and IRRICAD, is essential. A strong understanding of hydraulics, hydrology, agronomy, and the interrelationships between soil, water, and plants is also critical to effectively design and manage irrigation systems.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates who can reliably commute to or relocate to Lahore before starting work will be given preference. This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring physical presence for effective supervision and collaboration throughout project phases.
The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs40,000 to Rs60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. During the application process, candidates will be asked to provide their expected salary and current notice period.
This role is ideal for a proactive professional dedicated to advancing sustainable irrigation practices within dynamic and evolving landscape projects. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to water-efficient, environmentally responsible irrigation solutions that support long-term project success.
