Position Purpose:

Will be responsible for the purchase of books/library material and dealing with local & foreign publishers/booksellers

Main Responsibilities

Economical purchase of library materials (books, DVDs, course books & databases etc.)
Maintenance of acquisition module of library software (VIRTUA)
Advance level MS-Office expertise (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
Adjustment of advances
Selling of books to students
Negotiating prices, discount & shipping cost with publishers
Payments to vendors
Orders follow up with foreign publishers
Understanding of all publication styles of referencing

Other

The candidate should be meticulous and have the ‘attention to details’ skill
Familiarity with SCOPUS, Web of Knowledge and other similar databases is preferred
Must be eager to learn

**Any other duty assigned by the Head of Department
