Network Engineer Job Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problems.
• Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
• Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.
• Good knowledge of network administration.
• Linux Administration (RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu, Windows) knows Switching and Routing
• Server maintain and configuration, including programing in these portion as well.
• Cisco Switching, VLAN, Routing, Firewalling Support
• Service Hardware Technologies (CPU/RAID/SCSI) Support
• Data Backup & Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support
• Understanding of TCP/IP, trouble shooting and configuring network related technology
• Experience with routers & firewalls
• Understanding the relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
• Understanding of Active Directory / DNS / DHCP / WDS / PRINT / Servers.
• Understanding of Network monitoring software Basic understanding of SNMP and SNMP traps
• Able to work in a challenging environment
