DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder general direction, performs a variety of engineering tasks by applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level has experience and an increasing of engineering theories and practices, and company procedures.
Typical projects assignments are larger in scope, more difficult and varied than at the Associate Engineer level.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, utilizing CAD and Engineering software as applicable.
Prepares standard engineering computations, designs and reports (with supervision).
Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Skills
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSBS Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited university. A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the field of bridge design and transportation related structures.Working knowledge with AASHTO design guidelines and structural design software including CONBOX, CONSPAN, RCPIER, PCACOL and STAAD PRO. Must be familiar with Microstation or AutoCAD CADD systems in the production of structural drawings. Must have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel software.Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
