American Lyceum is looking for a passionate and experienced Montessori Advanced Homeroom Teacher to lead a mixed-age classroom of children aged 5.5 to 9 years. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering independence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning through the Montessori approach. This role requires managing all core subjects, maintaining classroom routines, and working closely with assistant staff and parents to create a nurturing and enriching educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Montessori lessons across language, math, science, and cultural subjects in accordance with the Montessori curriculum. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning experiences tailored to advanced learners. Maintain a well-prepared, orderly, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and growth. Observe and assess student progress regularly, keeping detailed records to guide instruction. Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet diverse student needs. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture. Communicate consistently with parents through meetings, progress reports, and informal updates to support student development. Collaborate effectively with assistant teachers and school administration to achieve educational goals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Certified Montessori training (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) for the Elementary level. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a Montessori classroom. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for child-led, inquiry-based learning.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
A Master’s degree in Education or a related discipline is preferred. This is a full-time, in-person position. Competitive pay starting from Rs 25,000 per month.
