An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Islamabad office for a dynamic Head of Programmes to ensure effective management and delivery of all MA Pakistan country programmes and provide appropriate support for implementing partners. To manage all project leads. To ensure a strong link between our programmes and advocacy and provide representation for programme and on country / regional issues where appropriate.

We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and hardworking and have proven experience in leading development and humanitarian programmes in challenging developing country contexts.

As the Head of Programmes you will spend 50% of your time in the field leading, assisting and providing feedback to the project and programme officers and managers. Therefore, you will need to have previous experience of managing and supervising large programme teams, including distance management, and a track record of promoting learning and capacity building. You will also work closely with the Country Director in resource mobilization.

You will have in depth knowledge of national and international development issues to ensure that all country programmes respond to current development and humanitarian trends. You will use your understanding of current thinking and practice amongst institutional donors and proven experience of developing quality proposals to grow funding from donors such as EC, ECHO, UN and DFID.

You will have the ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse groups of people and develop strong communication channels between the Head Office and Country Programmes. You will also build and manage strong networks with institutional donors and senior leaders in the HQ.
