  • Leading tax function by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely filing of all the Federal and provincial sales tax returns.
  • Advising all internal stakeholders on taxes and customs compliance up to each transaction level.
  • Review of Federal Sales tax, Customs Act, provincial sales tax and respective rules and timely adaptation of various amendments.
  • Liaising between Tax Authorities (both federal and provincial level) and Tax Advisors in respect of Taxes and Custom audits, Assessments and Refunds of current / previous Tax Years.
  • Ensuring correct accounting treatment of Taxes and reconciliation of input and output taxes.
  • Ensuring compliances with Stamp Duty and Professional Tax laws.
  • Review and advice on import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin. Coordination with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance.
  • Advice on correct tariff classification for imported  goods including relevant duty exemptions, preferential trade agreements, and free trade agreements.
  • Other reporting on special topics as assigned by Head of Department.
