DRR / Livelihood Officer

Job Purpose:

DRR and Livelihood officer will serve under the supervision of the Project Officer will be based in Rajanpur field office, He/she will be responsible and accountable to implement project activities in community. While implementation He/she will responsible to follow PMS SOPs and core values and act as achieve project goals.

Job Specifications:

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Disaster Management, Social Work, Sociology, Community Development or Development Studies

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years work experience in project support, community development, mobilization, ideally in the field of DRR, Livelihoods Development and for an NGO.

• Experience of working with communities on participatory action planning and community engagement.

• Experience on monitoring projects and collecting relevant data of livelihood beneficiaries and income monitoring.

• Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desirable:

• Development & Networking experience in communities.
• Preferably Saraiki speaking
• Experience of working with NGO/INGO and youth marginalized & disadvantaged communities of district Rajanpur

Job Description:

The livelihood officer is responsible for designing the overall WASH, DRR and Livelihood strategy and

implementation of project relevant activities within the project timeline, also providing timely and relevant

information to Project coordinator In District Rajanpur

Specific Areas of Responsibility and Related Activities

1. To work with community organizations through participatory tools like Participatory Risk Analysis and

Participatory Reflection and Action to identify the vulnerabilities, risks, hazards and capacities and

prepare Community DRR Plans and contribute in overall Village Development Plans.

2. To prepare Community Disaster Risk Reduction Plans (CDRRPs) and maintain the systematic record and

liaise with DDMAs for needed coordination.

3. To impart trainings on Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Risk Management and Livelihood Approaches to

community activists and identified members.

4. To maintain coordination with District Disaster Management Authority and District Agriculture

Department for timely sharing of information and DDMPs.

5. To prepare Livelihood Portfolio Development at village level.

6. To take lead role in organizing the target community to smoothly execute the project activities by

respecting the dignity and integrity of the disaster affected families.

7. To Assist the community to identify potential gaps, analyse their problems and prioritize their needs as well as involve them in finding solutions to their collective problems.

8. Assist the target community in obtaining available outside resources through self-help and self-reliant initiatives.

9. To assist the line manager and MEAL officer in monitoring the project activities and provide inputs in

developing potential case studies/success stories, Monthly progress reports and final narrative report writing.

10. To provide regular updates to the line manager about daily activities through Field Visit Reports, work plans and proper documentation.

11. To Coordinate project activities with all relevant community stakeholders and other working humanitarian partners in the target area.

12. To Identify the beneficiaries for Livelihood and DRR training as per training needs.

13. To participate in research and IEC material development at national/local language (Siriki) and distribute target communities.

14. To Celebrate International days with community and government line department.

15. To maintain pictorial and documentary records of the all-project activities

16. To provide monthly, quarterly and annually data to line manager for reporting purposes.
