Requirements and Responsibilities Import/export executive

Knowledge of import / export process
Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations
Expedites the flow of traffic to/ from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation
Completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international distribution in a timely manner
May negotiate with clients or handle issues with custom officials
Should be able to deal in a professional manner with banks, customs agents, shipping companies, and suppliers.
Managing various aspects of the supply chain, including imported and locally purchased raw materials.
Ability to fill and process LC and Bank Contract forms properly.
Coordinating with customs agents, shipping companies and factory management to ensure timely arrival of imported supplies.
Managing import data in an organized manner.
As an Import Officer you will be part of a team who are responsible for the movement of goods from another country, ensuing the transit and delivery is made on time.
This means that you will liaise regularly with overseas offices, partners, or agents.
You will be responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and that they are legal and legitimate.
You will be responsible for calculating the cost after each consignment has arrived at the facility and documenting these costs in an orderly fashion.
Import Executives are responsible for costing jobs and ensuing maximum profitability for their organization.
Imports are generally subject to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations, so as an Import Executive your role will involve checking all is in order in this respect.
An Import Executive job requires establishing contacts and relationships with Clearing Agents to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process.
