Shadow Teacher

Shadow teacher required for a 6 years old boy with autism and communication difficulties. The Shadow Teacher will be following a routine with the child working on academic activities as well as engaging the child in physical play and other activities designed to improve the child's language; attention and focus. Will work with other experts from UK and US over video link to set goals and monitor child's progress. The Shadow Teacher will work under the guidance of occupational therapist to motivate the child and help with physical activities designed to overcome stress and improve attention and focus.

Responsibilities:

To work with the child at school and at home. Working hours will be from school start time until 5pm.
To work with child on activities to improve language and communication; social interaction with other children; reading; writing and math
Work with other professionals, such as speech therapist, occupational and physical therapists
Support the child with emotional and behavioral concerns and assist him in developing appropriate social skills

Minimum Requirements:

Must have basic understanding of autism and its impact on child development
Must have basic understanding of sensory issues and have experience working under the guidance of an occupational therapist
Must have experience working under the guidance of speech and language therapist to develop activities to promote verbal communication
Must be excellent in written and verbal English

Ideal Candidate:

We will hire immediately and offer top salary (up to Rs. 100,000 per month) if, in addition to the above, the candidate meets the following requirements:

Has appropriate qualifications in Education; Psychology and / or child development
Has proven experience with ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) method of working with autistic children
Has ABA qualifications (e.g. Board Certified ABA tutor)
Has proven experience working with autistic children using the ABA method
