We are looking for a Purchase Executive with solid experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) procurement. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on experience in purchasing within the MEP sector, demonstrating strong negotiation and closing abilities. This role demands the development of effective negotiation strategies for complex procurement tasks while carefully evaluating legal and business risks tied to contractual terms. The candidate must consistently deliver professional, engaging, and approachable service to both internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage MEP-related materials, systems, and shop drawing submittals to ensure timely and accurate procurement.
- Communicate effectively with Consultant MEP supervisory engineers, inspectors, and relevant project staff to maintain alignment and smooth workflow.
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and purchase orders through ERP systems.
- Assist in reviewing project scopes, budgeting, and justifying change work orders related to MEP activities.
- Verify the accuracy of item codes, specifications, and supplier details for all MEP-related materials.
- Source, evaluate, and maintain a comprehensive database of vendors supplying mechanical, electrical, and plumbing products.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers to secure the best possible agreements.
- Build and nurture strong supplier relationships to support ongoing procurement needs and project demands.
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers and optimizing purchasing strategies.
- Maintain logs and update all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
- Support testing, commissioning, and installation of MEP equipment as required to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree, MBA, or equivalent education in purchasing, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Materials Management Software (MMS).
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Purchase Executive specializing in MEP procurement (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing).
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to develop strategic negotiation approaches.
- Capability to assess legal and business risks related to contractual agreements.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a professional and customer-focused demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience working directly with ERP systems in procurement processes is highly desirable.
- Exposure to coordination with consultants and supervisory engineers on MEP projects will be an advantage.
- This is a full-time, in-person position offering a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000.
