Junior Software Developer

PureData builds and provides data management tools/solutions to schools all over the world. We help schools by providing them with different products and services. Products/services include PowerSchool plugins, data integration tools, data dashboards and PowerSchool customization.

We are currently looking for a Software Developer who can help us build software for the K-12 education industry. This position will work with the development team to build solutions in PowerSchool SIS and Google Cloud Platform. The candidate is required to have the following skills:

Required Skills:

2+ years of experience in the following one or more general purpose programming languages: JavaScript, Java, C/C++, AJAX, jQuery, CSS3, HTML, Ruby, Python and PHP.
2+ years of experience working with relational databases. eg. SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL.
2+ years of experience in software development industry
Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills
Work in the Agile/Scrum development environment with frequently changing requirements and actively participate in scrum meetings and reviews.
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, follow development standards and work independently

Preferred:

K-12 education experience
Experience in Google Cloud Platform

Professional Skills:

Bachelor's degree (or working toward one) preferably in Information Technology / computer science.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Proactively communicating with colleagues surrounding the status of open work and potential roadblocks.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Desire to learn new technologies.
Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and knack for creative solutions.
Organized multi-tasker, with exceptional attention to detail and innovative ideas.
