Basic Function:
The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews, and the assessment of the credit worthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
Details:
- Being custodian of company’s AR, leading through credit policies and procedures to ensure Company’s AR is issued to quality customers and payment is received in time according to credit terms
- Maintaining Company’s DSO within agreed limit in coordination with Finance
- Maintaining overall OD/AR Ratio within approved standard limit on quarterly basis
- Coordination with all departments HODs for coherent credit operations
- Ensuring strategy to minimize company overall credit risk
- Planning of activities step by step over the year in form of Credit Department Business Plan to ensure company credit risk within acceptable limits
- Execution of Credit Department Yearly Business Plan within timelines
- Credit Analysis presentation to management reflecting credit controls / gaps and actions to control gaps
- Review of company credit polices to ensure that polices are amended according to business need and credit polices support in business enhancement
- Credit Staff Hiring, Training, Grooming, Motivation, Retention
- Market Visit to benchmark competitor’s credit standards/controls and formulation of policies
- Any other task assigned by CFO & seniors
