Network Support Engineer

Key responsibilities:

Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, DNS and DHCP
Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
Arranging scheduled upgrades
Investigating faults in the network.
Managing Service Desk incidents, coordination, and allocation of tickets.
Maintain/Update the Asset register and Infrastructure documentation.
Escalate and work with senior engineers and external vendors to resolve incidents.
Reporting network status to key stakeholders (weekly/monthly reporting)
On-Call availability
Working time 6am to 2pm

Required Skills:

Experience with network vendors such as Cisco, Huawei and Juniper configuration (lab experience is fine as well)
In depth understanding of LAN/WAN networks, troubleshooting and remediation (lab experience is fine as well)
Good Knowledge of protocols and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, Multicast, IGMP, LLDP, VoIP
Good understanding of Linux
CCNA/JNCIA Level knowledge (no certification required)
Good Understanding of GPON technologies
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Problem-solving skills
