Job Duties and Responsibilities

Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, LAN networks, Access points printers and scanners
Installing different OS platform such as Linux, Ubuntu, and Microsoft windows
Installing and configuring different virtualization platform i.e. VMware and Hyper-V
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
Troubleshooting of LAN and WLAN issues.
Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone)
Repairing and replacing computer/networking equipment as necessary
Possibly training more junior staff members
Co-ordinate with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
Priorities and manage many open cases at one time
Test and evaluate new technology
conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.

Skills & Qualifications

Information technology Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
2+ years of experience in a technical support role
Certification will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Strong command Linux (ubuntu) running systems
Good knowledge of Virtualization
An ability to stick to strict deadlines
The ability to work well in a team
The ability to priorities workload
Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
